Our approach is grounded in respect, responsibility, and relationships.

2. Our Commitment

We recognise the enduring connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to Country, culture, and community. As an organisation with Aboriginal leadership, we are committed to contributing to improved social, economic, and professional outcomes for First Nations peoples, not through tokenism, but through practical and sustained action.

3. Employment and Capability Development

  • Actively seeking opportunities to employ Indigenous consultants, advisors, and support staff where skills and interest align

  • Providing culturally safe workplaces that support wellbeing, flexibility, and career development

  • Supporting mentoring, professional development, and leadership pathways within our projects and partnerships

  • Engaging Indigenous professionals in meaningful roles that value lived experience, cultural knowledge, and technical capability

Wherever practicable, fr&nk will:

  • Engage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned businesses within our supply chain

  • Prioritise Indigenous suppliers for goods and services that align with project needs

  • Support local Indigenous businesses and consultants in the regions where we work

  • Build long-term relationships rather than one-off transactional engagements

5. Engagement and Cultural Integrity

We commit to:

  • Engaging respectfully with Indigenous communities, organisations, and stakeholders

  • Ensuring cultural knowledge is acknowledged appropriately and never used without consent

  • Avoiding extractive or symbolic engagement practices

  • Designing services and solutions that reflect local context, culture, and community priorities

6. Accountability and Continuous Improvement

fr&nk will:

  • Regularly review this policy to ensure it remains meaningful and effective

  • Track Indigenous participation outcomes across employment, procurement, and partnerships

  • Seek feedback from Indigenous partners to inform improvement

  • Align our practices with broader reconciliation and social procurement objectives where relevant

7. Responsibility

All fr&nk partners, consultants, and subcontractors are expected to uphold this policy and contribute to its intent. Leadership responsibility sits with the Directors of fr&nk Capability Leaders.
